This is a pair of earrings inspired by the Hua Gai—the ornate canopies depicted above Bodhisattvas in the early Tang murals of Dunhuang. The form echoes a divine umbrella, often seen hovering as a symbol of cosmic shelter and spiritual elevation.
Cast in gold-plated 925 silver, the design combines a dome-like crown carved with lotus petals and a base of twelve golden beads—recalling the Mani pearls and lotus thrones that appear throughout Buddhist iconography.
A luminous white mother of pearl sits above the dome, representing wisdom and stillness—its soft iridescence grounding the celestial references in human grace.
