Why do Tibetans like carol?
Coral, one of the most mysterious treasures from the ocean, has been in Tibetan’s life for thousands of years. Same as turquoise, the carol is not produced initially in Tibet locally.
However, as one of the Seven Treasuries in Tibetan Buddhism, which are chalcedony, amber, pearl, coral, silver, gold, giant clam, coral is worn by almost every Tibetan.
Tibetans believe carol is the symbol of wisdom, healthy, and can protect people from dangers. |
