This is a pair of earrings based on the early Tang “Hua Gai” motif from the murals of Dunhuang, evoking celestial shelter and symbolic order. The upper crown features a white mother of pearl disc above a lotus dome and twelve golden beads—classic markers of Buddhist protection and regal cosmology.
What sets this version apart is the addition of three freshwater pearls suspended on a fine chain—recalling prayer beads, canopy fringes, or ritual tassels in sacred space. The vertical flow introduces rhythm, fluidity, and ceremonial delicacy.
